Understanding Successful Engineering Leadership:

It is widely recognized that engineering is more than just a technical activity. Engineering was and is foremost a fundamental business activity with significant impact on a company's performance and ultimate success.

Success is an essential part of most collective and personal advancements and a powerful driving force for growing businesses profitably, particularly the companies operating in the space of technology and engineering are driven to succeed by strong, accomplished, and determined technical leaders.


By understanding the technical leadership environment and the driving forces within the company that hired him, the consultant can increase the effectiveness of his expert contribution and his added value.


Sorin Marcovici is the founder and principal of SXN INTERNATIONAL LLC an engineering and leadership consultancy in Lexington, MA.

Sorin holds a Physicist-Engineer degree from the Polytechnic Institute, Bucharest, Romania, and a MD in Electrical Engineering, with Major in Computers, from Northeastern University, Boston, MA.

Beside his extensive, world-wide experience as a high-tech executive, Sorin has deep knowledge in multiple technical and scientific fields: electronics, mathematics, material science, and physics. His contributions encompass developing and launching continuous series of innovative products for medical imaging instrumentation ranging from various detectors to ultrasound systems, digital radiography and electronics for CT-scanners. He holds thirteen patents, has presented numerous papers at technical conferences, and has lectured world-wide on precision instrumentation.

Sorin is an IEEE Fellow recognized for contribution to and leadership in development of amorphous Selenium technologies and flat panel, and X-ray detectors.
